Terms of Service
Last updated 11 September 2026
Cook’s Best Of is operated by Jim Cook (Benchboard). By creating an account or buying a membership you agree to these terms.
Your account
One account, one person. Don’t share your sign-in with anyone else. Tell us at jimcook@benchboard.com if you think somebody else has got into it.
Membership and payment
Memberships are billed through Stripe at the price shown when you join. You can cancel at any time from your account page or by writing to us; cancelling stops the next payment and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have paid for. If something has gone wrong — a duplicate charge, a renewal you meant to cancel — write to us and we will sort it out.
What the library is, and what you may do with it
The material in the library is Jim Cook’s work, or is used with permission. Read it, use it in your own work, and take what is useful into your own company. Do not republish it, resell it, or pass member-only material to people who are not members.
What you upload
Anything you upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to show it back to you and, where you have chosen to share it, to the people you shared it with. Don’t upload material you do not have the right to share — your employer’s confidential documents are the usual case worth pausing over.
Coaching
Coaching is advisory. Jim Cook is not your lawyer, your accountant or your auditor, and nothing said in a session or written on a session sheet is legal, tax or investment advice. Decisions about your company remain yours.
Sessions are recorded and transcribed only where the client has agreed to it, and those records are visible to that client and to Jim Cook alone.
Messages we send
We email you about your account, your sessions and your bookings. Text messages sent by this site go to the site owner rather than to members. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for what we do with a mobile number, which is never to share it.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like. We may close an account that is being used to redistribute the library or to upload material somebody else owns. If we close yours, we will tell you why and refund any unused part of what you have paid.
The honest limitation
This is a small operation run by one person. We will do our best to keep the site up and your material safe, but we do not promise the service will never be unavailable, and our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Keep your own copies of anything you could not stand to lose.
Changes and contact
If these terms change materially we will say so on this page and tell members by email. Questions: jimcook@benchboard.com.
