Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
Cook’s Best Of is operated by Jim Cook (Benchboard). This policy covers cooksbestof.com and the coaching and membership services delivered through it.
What we collect
- Your account. Name, email address, and anything you choose to add to your profile — a short bio, a photograph, a LinkedIn address, a mobile number.
- What you upload. Documents you attach to a session sheet or contribute to the library.
- Coaching records. For coaching clients: session notes, goals, and transcripts or summaries of recorded sessions.
- Payments. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage. Pages viewed, searches run and documents opened, so we can tell what the library is actually useful for.
Who else processes it
We use a small number of services to run the site. Each receives only what it needs to do its job: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Postmark (email), Twilio (text alerts to the site owner), Calendly (booking) and Fathom (session recording and transcription, for coaching clients who have agreed to it).
Text messages and mobile numbers
Mobile numbers are never shared with third parties, and are never sold, rented or passed to anyone for marketing purposes. A mobile number held by this site is used only to contact the person it belongs to, or — in the case of the site owner’s own number — to alert him that a client is waiting on a response.
Message frequency: text messages sent by this site go only to the site owner, and are occasional — typically fewer than five per month. We do not send marketing texts to members or clients.
Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your uploaded documents or your coaching records for anything other than delivering the service to you.
Confidentiality of coaching material
Documents and session records belonging to a coaching client are visible to that client and to Jim Cook, and to nobody else. This is enforced by the database itself rather than by the pages in front of it.
Keeping and removing it
We keep your material for as long as you have an account, and while a coaching relationship is active. Ask us to show you what we hold, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will — write to jimcook@benchboard.com. Deleting your account removes your profile, your uploads and your coaching records.
Cookies
We set a cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
